Mid-1941                      Twenty people envision establishing a New Testament non-denominational                                                                       church in the Auburndale area of Toledo. 

 

October 5, 1941             First worship service held at Steadman Hall on Monroe with 25 in attendance.

 

December 7, 1941         Charles Phipps preaches as the first Minister.

 

June 1, 1943                  House at 3512 Monroe Street with seating capacity of 115 purchased to                                                                           accommodate increased attendance.

 

February 13, 1949          Congregation approved the purchase of six lots at South Cove Boulevard and                                                                   Auburn Avenue for future expansion.

 

May 18, 1952                Cornerstone for the new building was laid. 

 

March 1, 1953               $250,000 sanctuary dedicated.

 

September, 1955            Boulevard plants a new congregation on the western edge of Toledo called                                                                        Garden Park Church of Christ.

 

 October 18, 1964          Church pays off $250,000 mortgage in eleven years.

 

January 15, 1967           Church opens $160,000 educational wing to existing building.

 

September 22, 1985       Congregation votes to purchase 20 acres at 7041Sylvania Avenue for                                                                               $200,000. 

 

May 25, 1986                Congregation worships for last time at South Cove and Auburn facility and has                                                                 groundbreaking for $1,000,000 worship facility at Sylvania address.

 

May 30, 1987                First worship service held in new building.  The building was dedicated to God                                                                  on September 13, 1987.

 

November, 2004            Church pays of $1,000,000 mortgage.

 

January, 2006                Leadership announces $1.5 million building expansion to accommodate                                                                             increased attendance and growing children and youth ministries.
